Bhutan

A unique destination to make a trip under travel conditions, Bhutan was the country to establish tourism in 1974. When it comes to sustainable tourism, Bhutan is way ahead of time. They have placed restrictions so that the government is environmentally friendly, socially and culturally acceptable, and economically stable. Bhutan is also known as Druk Yul in the local language, which means ‘Land of the Thunder Dragon.’ Moreover, Bhutan is a clean, safe, and peaceful country, adapting to a more modern way of life at a steady pace.

The land in this country is steep, and high mountains crisscrossed by a network of rivers forming deep valleys. The government is also too high, which means the average altitude is 2438m above sea level. Regarding safety, Bhutan is a very safe country to visit. Here, crime is uncommon. However, petty crime takes place. Bhutan is the only country that has officially measured national happiness worldwide. All these are done by considering social, wealth, and environmental factors along with economic concerns. As of 2010, Bhutan is the first country in the world to ban the production and sale of tobacco products.
